Lovell captured the 2007 Fryeburg Fair Firemen’s Muster with a one-point win over Brownfield and a two-point margin over North Conway, NH and defending champion Waterford.
The Lovell team of Capt. Arthur Chadwick, Bob Collins, Chief Mark Moulton, Lori Bailey, Matt McGrath, Rick Re and Jim Kiesman failed to score any top three finishes but still managed to accumulate 49 points on route to the victory. The Sportsmanship trophy went to Wales. Waterford won the dry hose while Sumner captured the wet.

This year’s muster saw two renewed events, the rescue drag and the ladder climb. The hometown team from Fryeburg won the drag while neighbor Bridgton won the ladder. Chesterville beat Denmark in the non-point ball squirt.
Lovell takes home the Bob Butters Memorial trophy for the next year. Fryeburg Fair began giving out the trophy in 1995 in memory of the longtime Norway chief. Windham won the first trophy followed by North Conway, NH in 1996 and Waterford in 1997. Bowdoinham took overall honors in 1998 and Waterford won it the next five years.
In 2004, Kennebunk came away the winner. In 2005, Sumner won the event when Waterford failed to field a team but Waterford returned to victory last year for its seventh win in nine years.
