Waterford Wins Fire Muster for 7th Time

Waterford captured the annual Fryeburg Fair Firemen’s Muster Sunday for the seventh time in the last nine years.
The team of Adam Tanguay, Josh Hicks, Rick Morin, Dustin McAllister, Jamie Heath, Pat Lawless and Chief Adrien Morin amassed 62 points in winning the coveted Bob Butters Memorial Trophy.
In what officials believe is a first, Waterford won all three point events – Dry Hose, West Hose and Bucket Brigade. Waterford finished third in the non-point Water Ball event that was won by Chesterville.
Fryeburg Fair began giving out the Butters trophy in 1995 in memory of the longtime Norway chief. Windham won the first trophy followed by North Conway NH in 1996 and Waterford in 1997. Bowdoinham took overall honors in 1998 and Waterford won it the next five years.
In 2004, Kennebunk came away the winner. Last year, Sumner won the event, a year that saw Waterford fail to field a team.
CHAMPIONS: Lt to Rt: Adam Tanguay, Josh Hicks, Rick Morin, Dustin McAllister and Jamie Heath. Front: Pat Lawler and Chief Adrien Morin.

The engraved trophy resides with the winning town for the year and returns to the fair for the opening day muster.
